Hmm...I suppose I should say something more about myself now that I've got 'imaginary friends' out there who've never met me in person.

I post a lot about my house since I purchased it from my mom in the summer of 2004 and have spent, literally a year remodeling it. My dad was a master carpenter and remodeler and died of cancer in 1990. I used to help him on jobs in my teens and 20's. The house is 125 years old and my dad spent nearly 20 years remodeling it. The house means a lot to me since it is a reminder of my dad's work and I wanted to preserve as much of it as possible while adding on the things that I wanted for myself (some of which is: a fieldstone fireplace, a soaking tub and a library). I had a second story addition put in over the kitchen for the library so the whole house is 2 stories now. The front of the house was expanded out 6 feet to accomodate the fireplace on the lower level and the bathtub on the upper. 35 new windows were installed, a new roof, new siding, new plumbing and electrical were put in and the foundation wes patched. I also had an additional little 14x16 poll barn put up. I hope it'll all be done with soon.

My house companions include: My mom, my 3 inside 'city kitties' and litter mates: Smudge (aka Roo, ARooey, Kitten Boy...etc.), Wide Load (aka Loady, Loaded, Little...etc.) and Bouf (aka DeBoo, Boosey, Honeydoo, etc...). They are a black and white male, black and white male and tortishell female, respectively. I was 'adopted' by two outside 'country kitties' last year. They are Spooky (aka Spooks, Spooka boy, etc.) a male brown tabby tiger stripe and Mystery (aka Myst, Mystie girl, etc.), a female tortishell.

As for me, I've got duel degrees and have moved from one profession to another now. I have a B.S. in chemistry and spend 10 1/2 years as an analytical chemist before getting another B.S. in computer science and moving into software engineering. I've now been in that field for 8 years (as of October, 2005). Wow. I feel old now. I'm looking forward to the day that my house remodeling is done, the place is cleaned up and organized and I can sit down and rest for a while. ;)

More to come...(maybe)... ;D
